Who is the course for?
Anyone who dreams of playing this wonderful instrument and has little to no background, or only limited experience with guitar.
No prior knowledge is needed.
The course's goal is to reach a level where you can sit and enjoy your own playing. You’ll gain a bit of understanding, but enough, about the world of maqam to allow for further learning in an advanced course or even on your own.
 
What will we learn in the course?
We'll start with the basics—how to hold the instrument and the Risha. Gradually, we’ll get familiar with the strings and sounds. We'll practice technique and incorporate knowledge of the maqam musical scales. You'll experience a rich melodic world, and as we deepen our practice, we’ll grow within it. All exercises will be written in musical notation, so we'll also learn to read music, covering rhythmic and melodic understanding. Everything will be taught in an enjoyable, light, and simple manner.
